Accessibility

Budgetmend is built so more people can plan around their pay schedule. We design for accessibility from the start and continue to improve support with each release.

This page describes accessibility on https://www.budgetmend.com and the Budgetmend iOS app. It is an accessibility statement, not a warranty that every part of the product is barrier-free.

We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA for new and updated experiences on the website and in the iOS app. We have not commissioned a third-party accessibility audit or formal certification.

If you encounter a barrier, please contact us using the details below. We treat accessibility feedback as a product priority.

On the website, Budgetmend supports the following accessibility features for common tasks such as browsing marketing pages, signing in, managing your budget, reviewing bills and activity, and updating account settings:

• Skip to main content: A skip link appears when you tab into the page so keyboard users can jump past repeated navigation to the main content.
• Semantic structure: Public pages use landmarks such as header, main navigation, main content, and footer so assistive technologies can move through the site efficiently.
• Keyboard navigation: Core marketing pages, account flows, and app screens support keyboard access to links, buttons, and form fields.
• Visible focus: Interactive controls include visible focus indicators so keyboard users can see where they are on the page.
• Screen reader labels: Buttons, links, dialogs, and many form controls include text labels or ARIA attributes for screen readers such as VoiceOver, NVDA, and JAWS.
• Text resizing and zoom: Pages support browser zoom and system text-size settings without breaking core reading and form tasks.
• Light and dark appearance: The website follows your system light or dark preference where supported by your browser.
• Color and contrast: Important states use text, icons, or patterns in addition to color—for example, included vs. not-included pricing checks and alert messaging.

Analytics cookies are optional. The cookie banner can be operated with a keyboard and includes an accessible dialog label.

Most desktop and mobile browsers include built-in accessibility tools. Examples include:

• Zoom: increase page magnification in your browser settings or with keyboard shortcuts
• Screen readers: use VoiceOver on macOS and iOS, Narrator on Windows, or another assistive technology supported by your browser
• Keyboard-only navigation: use Tab, Shift+Tab, Enter, and Space to move through links, buttons, and form fields
• Reduced motion: when your system requests reduced motion, decorative animation is limited

On iPhone, Budgetmend supports the following accessibility features for common tasks such as signing in, onboarding, viewing safe-to-spend, managing your budget, tracking bills and activity, and updating settings:

• VoiceOver: Navigate and use core app flows with spoken feedback and gestures, including auth, budgeting, bills, activity, settings, and billing.
• Voice Control: Activate labeled buttons, links, and fields using voice commands on iPhone.
• Larger Text: Primary text scales with your iPhone text size settings (Dynamic Type).
• Dark Interface: Follows your device appearance setting with a dark color scheme across the app.
• Differentiate Without Color Alone: Important states use text and icons in addition to color—for example, alerts, income vs. expense amounts, and tab labels.
• Sufficient Contrast: Interface colors are designed for readable text and controls in both light and dark modes.
• Reduced Motion: The app does not rely on spinning, parallax, or auto-playing motion for core tasks.

Features we do not currently provide: in-app video captions or audio descriptions (the app does not include video content that requires them).

Open Settings → Accessibility on your iPhone, then choose the feature you need—for example:

• VoiceOver — spoken navigation and feedback
• Voice Control — control the device with your voice
• Display & Text Size → Larger Text — increase text size
• Display & Brightness → Dark — dark appearance
• Display & Text Size → Increase Contrast — stronger contrast
• Motion → Reduce Motion — limit motion effects

We are still improving accessibility in some areas. Examples include:

• Website charts and analytics: some spending charts and trend visualizations are easier to interpret visually than by screen reader alone.
• Drag-and-drop budgeting: reordering budget categories on the web is optimized for pointer input; alternative controls are limited in some views.
• Bill scanning (iOS app): uses the device camera and may be easier with sighted assistance.
